Our commitment
The Insights Loop Limited is committed to providing a safe, respectful learning and working environment. The welfare of a child, young person or adult at risk takes priority. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and concerns will be taken seriously and handled promptly.
Who this applies to
This policy applies to directors, staff, contractors, associates, volunteers, learners, clients and visitors involved in our training, events, online sessions or other services. A child is anyone under 18. An adult at risk is someone aged 18 or over who may be unable to protect themselves from abuse or neglect because of their care and support needs.
How we work safely
- We set clear standards for professional boundaries, respectful behaviour and appropriate communication.
- We plan delivery with age, vulnerability, access needs and the online or physical setting in mind.
- We avoid unnecessary one-to-one contact with under-18s and use appropriate organisational channels.
- We record and report concerns factually, sharing information only with those who need it to protect someone or meet a legal duty.
- We follow safer recruitment and suitability checks where a role and the law require them.
Recognising a concern
A concern may involve physical, emotional or sexual abuse, neglect, exploitation, bullying, harassment, domestic abuse, discriminatory abuse, self-neglect, online harm, radicalisation or a disclosure that someone is unsafe. You do not need proof before raising a concern.
Reporting a concern
Raise concerns as soon as possible with Nicola Martin, Managing Director and safeguarding lead, using the enquiry form on this website and marking the message Safeguarding — confidential. Give a clear factual account, but do not investigate, promise secrecy or confront the person alleged to have caused harm.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. If a child needs urgent help but there is no immediate danger, contact the relevant local authority children’s services or police on 101. Adults at risk should be referred to the relevant local authority adult safeguarding team. Children and young people can contact Childline free on 0800 1111.
What happens next
We will consider immediate safety, preserve an accurate record and refer the concern to the appropriate authority or delivery partner where necessary. Information will be handled sensitively, but confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where sharing is needed to protect someone.
Allegations and complaints
Concerns about the conduct of anyone working on our behalf must be reported in the same way. We will take appropriate protective action and cooperate with statutory agencies. No one will be disadvantaged for raising a genuine concern in good faith.
Review
This policy is reviewed regularly and when our services, delivery arrangements or safeguarding requirements change.
